Happy Friday!

Important Items:

·         Next Thursday, November 15th is Parent/Teacher Interviews.  If you have not already done so, please use the following link to book your timehttp://stjosephs.schoolappointments.com/

·         Now that the colder weather is here, please remember to send students dressed appropriately for the snow.  Our rule is that when the ground is covered, students must wear boots and snow pants or splash pants to venture out onto the field, otherwise they are restricted to the pavement area for recess.  Today was a wonderful day watching everyone roll boulders and play in the snow.  However it reminds staff how wet and cold their hands get doing this—please consider purchasing mittens and gloves that are water repellant instead of just the knit kind.  Thanks.

·         Remembrance Day:  Thank you to our Grade 3/4 class and Miss Gravel for a lovely Remembrance Day Liturgy today.  It was very moving and respectful.  We also thank our Prime Minister, Maia Stephan, and Deputy Prime Minister, Keagan Campbell, for representing our school and laying a commemorative wreath at this year’s Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph.  This is a tradition that our school and other city catholic schools have participated in year after year in our promise: “Lest We Forget”.  Please consider attending with your family.

·         Grade 6, 7 & 8 parents and students are invited to attend St. Michael’s Secondary School’s Open House on Wednesday, November 14th from 7:00 pm on.  Please see the attached invitation.

·         Changed date:  Please note that the Volleyball Tournament date was changed.  The tournament is now Wednesday, November 14th.  As always, we ask that students are dropped off and picked up at St. Mike’s that day.  A copy of the schedule is attached for parents.

·         Another Changed date:  Our Parent Council Meeting has been postponed until Wednesday, November 21st as it conflicted with the Open House at St. Mike’s.  Everyone is welcome to attend!!

·         Calling All Three Year Olds:  Reminder that our CATYO or Kindergarten Registration day is Monday, November 19th in the morning.  If you have or know of a potential student, please contact Mrs. Chute in the office to set up an appointment that morning.

·         Safety First:  A reminder that students should NOT be dropped off or picked up in the Staff Parking Lot on McFarlane St..  Thank you for your assistance with this.
