The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Superintendent of Education. The successful applicant will have demonstrated effective leadership in the areas of student achievement (literacy and mathematics), school operations, and faith formation.

Superintendents of Education report to the Director of Education and are responsible for a wide array of program portfolios as well as supervision of schools. They have exceptional interpersonal skills, communication skills, organizational skills and political acumen. Superintendents of Education are able to lead change in a fast-paced and complex environment. Supervisory Officers in a Catholic school system are mission-oriented and committed to forming disciples of Jesus.

Qualifications
Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers;
Supervisory Officer’s Certificate from the Ontario Ministry of Education (or ability to complete qualifications within one year of application).

Preferred Assets
Experience as a principal in at least two of the following areas (secondary school principal, elementary school principal or district-level principal), or experience as a Supervisory Officer.

A demonstrated track-record for:

  • improving results in student achievement (literacy and mathematics);
  • innovative/entrepreneurial practices; and
  • problem-solving/nurturing positive working relationships with staff, parents and stakeholders.

Leadership in Special Education and Human Resources; and
Demonstrated record of commitment to their personal journey of Catholic faith.

Applications must include a cover letter; detailed resume and proof of qualifications; written letters of support from three professional references; and a current pastoral reference from a Catholic priest.
