Our Board’s District Awards
The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board has many district awards. The ultimate success of our educational system is dependent upon faculty, students, parent(s)/caregiver(s), staff and the community. We believe that it is important to formally recognize the efforts and achievements of those whose presence and actions are foundational to our success.
The Order of St. André Bessette
The Order of St. André Bessette was established in 2021. The award recognizes an exceptional contribution to academia, spiritual life and/or philanthropic achievement. The induction ceremony takes place annually in May during Catholic Education Week. Learn more here.
St. Teresa of Calcutta Faith in Action Award
The St. Teresa of Calcutta Faith in Action Award was established in 2005 and recognizes exemplary service to Catholic education. The nominees for this award represent all stakeholder groups in the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board community – employees, parents, caregivers, volunteers, clergy, and parishioners. The award ceremony takes place bi-annually in May during Catholic Education Week. Learn more here.
Bernard Murray Memorial Scholarship Award
Bernard Murray was a former Trustee for the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board. The Bernard Murray Memorial Scholarship Award was established in 2017. The Bernard Murray Memorial Scholarship is presented annually at graduation to one deserving secondary student within the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board. Learn more here.
The Larry Langan Award
Larry Langan was a former Director of Education for the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board. He dedicated his career in Catholic education to inclusion and the success of all students. When he retired, our school board decided to create this award to honour him, as a thank you for the contributions he made to inclusive education. Learn more here.
Huron-Perth Catholic Trustees' Student Leadership Award
The Huron-Perth Catholic Trustees’ Student Leadership Award is rooted in the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations which include being an active witness to faith; showing respect and dignity for all; being an effective communicator; and having the ability to work collaboratively and responsibly within the school, parish and community. Applause Award
The Huron-Perth Catholic District SchooI Board is committed to nurturing all persons to be leaders of faith and social justice. Each spring, the Board looks forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students with Applause Award recognitions. The Applause Award Program recognizes selected students from across the district for their ongoing contributions to their respective school communities. Learn more here.
CEFO - Outstanding Catholic Student Award
Each year, the Catholic Education Foundation of Ontario (CEFO) asks Catholic secondary schools across the province to nominate and submit the name of a student to be the recipient of the C.E.F.O. Outstanding Catholic Student Award. This is a unique opportunity for the Catholic education community, in a provincial forum, to recognize and celebrate the excellence and accomplishments of our Catholic young students. Learn more here.
